Tongue &
Lip Tie
Releases

We assess tongue and lip ties (also called tethered oral tissues) in children of all ages. The presence of these tissues do not necessarily mean that they are tied.

When there are issues, they can limit how kids use their mouth. For newborns, tongue and lip ties can cause difficulty feeding, along with a variety of other issues. As children grow, ties can cause issues with speech, brushing, tooth alignment and even social interactions as children become more aware of their limitations.

Not every tongue or lip tie needs treatment, but if you’re noticing challenges, visiting us in Windsor for a consultation is a great place to start. We’ll conduct a thorough assessment and discuss whether your child could benefit from a gentle, quick release (also known as a frenectomy) to help them thrive. We connect families with other experts as needed to ensure our little patients get the best care. We’re here to support your family every step of the way!
